Club Requirements
Regular Club attendance is mandatory. Students will be expected to compete in a minimum of one tournament with a minimum of one speech and/or debate.
Speech homework may take 1-3 hours per week - more at tournament time.
Debate homework could take 2-4 hours per week - more at tournament time.

NCFCA Competition Requirements
Students must be age 12-18 on January 1, 2009, and must be home schooled at least 51% of the time, to compete in NCFCA speech & debate qualifying tournaments.

One parent is required to accompany his/her student to tournaments and will be trained to serve as a judge and timekeeper.

Club Meetings
Fridays from 2:30 to 5:00
Speech – 1st & 3rd Fridays
Debate – 2nd & 4th Fridays
5th Friday will be used as needed

Estimated Costs
Annual Non-refundable Club Fee: $50 each student for the year.
NCFCA Affiliate Fee: $30-$40 per family per year. Please go to: www.ncfca.org
Debate books: The Blue Book $45.00.
Average Tournament fee: $50/student
Travel expenses: out-of-town three day tournaments. (Average costs $300-$500)
